Will my Psoriasis improve?

It is very hard to predict whether your psoriasis will worsen, improve or stay the same throughout your life. Psoriasis tends to remain a long- standing (chronic) problem, although there are usually some periods when it is much better and others when it flares up. Ayurvedic treatment for psoriasis is very effective and can offer a disease free life and you can live a life with out psoriatic symptoms. Ayurveda’s approach towards the treatment of psoriasis is a whole body treatment approach taking into consideration your body constitution.

Is psoriasis infectious?

It is not infectious. You cannot get psoriasis from others and you can not infect others with psoriasis if you have the condition yourself.

Why have I got psoriasis when no one else in my family has it?

Psoriasis tends to run in families, but there are also trigger factors that activate the condition. Some of these triggers are known and some are not. It is therefore possible that members of your family have ‘carried’ the psoriasis genes but the condition itself has never surfaced.

What will happen to my psoriasis if I become pregnant?

The effect of pregnancy on psoriasis is variable. Some women find that their condition worsens. If you are taking medication for your psoriasis and planning a pregnancy make sure that you inform Dr Ashok as some changes might be needed in the treatment protocol. Although, Ayurvedic medications given by us for psoriasis do not affect the baby in the womb, so it is no harm to be pregnant while you are on these medicines.
