Spine and Neck Care Programme
A vertebral column (Spine) of human body is formed by cervical (neck) 8 bones, thoracic (upper back) 12 bones, lumbar (lower back) 5 bones and sacral (tail end) 1-4 bones sitting on each other with a soft cushioned shock absorb disc in between, gives a shape of stretched ‘s’ in side view and also provides tunnel for spinal cord that starts from lower brain to L2 (lower lumbar spine). Spinal nerves originate from the spinal cord and travel peripherally to the muscles. Basically human bones join together and form joints, in this way we have a human skeleton, which is well supported by the muscles. Muscles are functioned (moving joints) by orders given by the brain via nerves. Hope this educates with the following,

Now days we all commonly have body aches and pains arise from
1.whiplash (car RTA) injuries
2.sports injuries
3.Postural pain
4.Arthritic (wear & tear) joints ache/pain,
5.Spondylosis
6.Muscular pain

Whiplash
Neck, shoulders and back muscles react inaccurately to an unexpected action in a car RTA. These muscles develop unnecessary exceeded tension in muscle spindles (centre part of the muscle bulk) due to chemical imbalance. So to release the tension from these muscles, need to relax them by maintaining good posture to offload further muscle tension, heat application, soft tissue massage, trigger (pressure) point release and movement exercises.

Sports Injuries
Neck, Shoulders, back, hip/groin, knee, ankle and foot pains can be relieved by preserving the movement, rest, ice application, compression and elevation in the acute stage of treatment .In later stage of treatment, soft tissue massage, stretches, movement exercise and strengthening exercise to relief the muscle tensions.

Postural pain
Neck, Shoulders, Upper back, lower back, Hips, Knees, Elbow and Wrist pain can be developed by poorly sitting posture mostly at desks (job) and by repeated actions.
Poor posture means pocked chin forward, protracted, rounded and drooped shoulders with back slump secondary to poor muscle tone possibly developed by poor life style (poor diet in take with no exercise and sitting in sofas for longer period to watch television). So to resolve this postural pain, need to correct posture, soft tissue massage, heat application, stretch, and strengthening exercises to minimise recurrence.

Arthritic (wear & tear) Joints pain
As we get older, we all wear out our joints especially knees, back and neck which become very stiff and ache on resting but relieved on movements. For these joints stiff & aches relief, heat, regular exercises often position changes as able, stretching, strengthening and soft tissue massage etc.
Note: No miracle treatment for complete cure of wear & tear joints. Therefore only management to maintain the health of joints and muscles.

Spondylosis (disc wear & tear)
Degenerative changes in disc (lies in between the vertebral bones and provides shock absorb and cushioning effect). Usually happens with ageing process but can also happen (disc prolapse) with sports injuries and on lifting/pushing/pulling heavy things that loads lots of pressure in the spine that’s where this disc slip off the vertebral bones. So this disc prolapse could cause nerve root irritation pain in the back and in the legs. For this pain relief, heat application, maintaining good posture, stretching, strengthening, core stability exercises along with some soft tissue massage.

Muscular/body pain
Sometimes we don’t know how we develop muscular pain with our hectic daily living activities but can possibly be relieved by soft tissue massage, heat application and with some stretching exercises along with proper posture.

Panchakarma and these above problems
When we start getting any of the above problem we start from visiting our doctor and then Physiotherapist and all the route is end with some pain killer and doing some exercise there is no doubt up to a extend these works but if, we go deep in to the route of Panchakarma therapy we find out it is more effective then these above options. Because the principle of Panchakarma works on the route of the diseases. And it is the combination of Therapy, Medication and exercise. We use very special medicated herbal oil for the treatment of these problems. This medication goes deep in to the tissue and help in reducing pain, inflammation and stiffness without giving any harm.

If you have any of these problems visit our clinic our one of the team member will suggest you the way to get rid these problem.

This programme includes special massages, kativasthi, snehavasthi, kashayavasthi, pizhichil, njavarakizhi, special exercises etc to cure spine and neck ailments.
Time – At lest 60 minute required for a sitting.
